Are you working on the things you need to be working on to get your goals accomplished…

 

Or are you getting really good at checking boxes, completing routines, and making a nice cozy comfort zone around “critical” tasks?

 

So what’s more important?

 

Getting the daily rituals done or learning from the intent of the ritual itself?

 

Take a look at this picture…

 

It’s my scorecard for how I performed in my own purpose list…

Last week was an 87% score…

 

And last night I could have gone out and got my thirty minute walk in and bumped my score to 91%, but I didn’t. 

 

You could argue I chose being soft over getting my shit done…

 

But I’d like to present another point of view…

 

You see, my items on my purpose list are my anchor to finding my purpose, answering my calling, and a way of keeping me on the path to my big vision…

 

Doing the things in the list every day works, but only if they are completed with intention…

 

And it’s not all or nothing because life never is…

 

It’s about evaluating what went right and what went wrong…

 

Seeking continuous improvement, adjusting the sails from time to time, and taking advantage of the winds when they are blowing in our favor…

 

It sure would have looked a little better to have a 90%+ score last week, but I also had other commitments that needed to be done, and I chose to clean up some messes around the house instead. 

 

And doing one task a little better would have ignored the rest of the week…

 

The reason things didn’t get done, was a result of not finding time earlier in the week for something’s, freeing up time for others…

 

It’s never just one thing…

 

It’s never all or nothing…

 

I’m still on track for a completely Dry Jan. The benefits of that goal don’t go away because I missed a 30 min walk today…

 

Pay just as much attention to the intention as you do the attention to the completion…

Ok if you're wondering what a purpose list is, here’s my definition…

 

A Purpose List is a daily task list of 5 things you should do everyday that helps you figure out your purpose in life. Now, you might say, how are these tasks going to help me figure that out?  And I’d say you gotta believe in Magic! Just know when you activate your relationship to you body, your community, and your mind, the things you seek begin to find you…

 

Here’s what you need in your list:

 

⚓️ Daily Movement

⚓️ Build Positive Relationships 

⚓️ Internal Reflection

⚓️ Be Creative

⚓️ Do Something Hard
